Pausing and Patching update (V2.1.0)


That update name was kinda hard to come up with, well I chose that one so that's that. Anyways, a new big patch update that adds some fixes and visual improvements, I don't have much else to say about this update. The next update is planned to be primarily focused on turrets and combat. The planned additions are as follows: fixing the turrets (if I am able to, a bug where they point the wrong way, and also they will soon only shoot at enemies in range, I didn't implement that previously as I had trouble with it), adding a new full-auto turret (compared to the Semi Turret, it's higher damage and fire rate, but much higher power and ammo consumption), I'll implement ammo into the gameplay (basically shooting costs metal), I'll either finish or update the biped enemy (who is supposed to occasionally spawn with equipment such as health-increasing bulletproof vests and helmets or damage-increasing weapons (even guns), though that is not yet fully implemented) and, to top things off, adding miniaturized turrets you can attach to your drone, so you can fight enemies on your own as well. I'm also having some trouble choosing between full-auto turret designs, so I'll probably make a poll on that soon. Now, with the planned next update out of the way, below is what was changed in this update.

Changelog:

  • Pausing has finally been added (Press ESC to pause, settings button doesn't work yet)
  • A controls list in the pause menu (Will be replaced with a tutorial later)
  • Added some more sound effects
  • Decorative forest patch improvements (Slight randomization (width, whether or not the sprite is flipped), Get thinner as more wood is removed from them (and no longer collide when thin enough), Shake when sawed)
  • Bug fixes (Pressing V sometimes dropping wrong trash, after equipping the saw once you didn't need to pull the claw back up when equipping again, being able to empty all your trash into the refinery by just flying under it, etc)
  • You can no longer fly over the forest
  • Buried the machinery (replaced machine sprites with sprites that have dirt around them, so they fit in with other machines better)
  • You no longer start with any metal or plastic 
  • Removed the floating pile of rubble beneath the base
  • Trash now despawns once it floats far enough
  • Your screen now gets a static effect (with a sound effect) when your pod computer is damaged that get's intenser and louder as more damage is taken
  • Changed a tiny detail on the tainted log (log from sawing the forest) texture
  • Building generators should work now
  • Made the tips of the line that appears when building round
  • Generator fixed
  • Fabricator fixed
